Freemont Street was the center of town at one point in Las Vegas history. It used to be a driveable street between hotels, but has since been turned into a pedestrian walkway and the Freemont Street Experience.
On one end of the Freemont Street experience is the Plaza Hotel and the other end is Las Vegas Blvd. The canopy of over a million lights displays evening time light shows at regular intervals. Hotels lining the street include The Plaza, Las Vegas club, Golden Gate, Golden Nugget, Horseshoe, 4 Queens and Fitzgeralds.
